Janet Ramont is a Southern California native. She grew in up in Orange County at a time when citrus groves dominated the landscape. Watching the trees gradually give way to concrete and condominiums inspired her to write THE ORCHARD, which she considers to be a fictional memoir of the land. She is a graduate of UCLA and teaches social science and photography in La Mirada. When she isn’t in the classroom or out taking photographs, she can be found in the orchard, picking words.
